Itinerary

Day 1

Arrive Cairo, Welcome to Egypt. tour and Fun travel representative will meet you to ensure a smooth path through immigration and customs.

Day 2

Enjoy Alexandria's fresh Mediterranean breeze and the remnants of its old-world grandeur. Visit pompey's Pillar, The catacombs and stroll around the new and impressive Alexandria Library. In the evening, take a walk along the corniche and perhaps finish the day with some of the fresh seafood for which "Alex" is famous.

Days 3-4 Cairo, Overnight train (2B,D)

Cairo is a city full of life. Visit the breathtaking pyramids in Giza, the Sphinx, or get lost in the Khan el-Khalili bazaar, a shopper's paradise.

Days 5-6 Aswan (2B,D)

Explore Egypt's southernmost city, Aswan, on the banks of the Nile. Visit the magnificent temples of Abu Simbel built by Ramses II in the thirteenth century BC. Stroll the broad corniche, get lost in the lively market, venture out by camel to St Simeon's Monastery or cross the river to the old Elephantine Island. Experience local culture first hand while taking a meal with a local Nubian family.

Days 7-9 Nile River Cruise (3B,3L,3D)
Embarkon the Nile Cruises, our home for the three nights. This boat is afirst-class cruiser, which offers excellent service and has a well-earnedreputation for good food. Facilities include bar, restaurant, small pool andprivate facilities in all cabins.

Day 10 Luxor (B)

Luxor is often called the world's greatest open air museum, and indeed it is. Visit the exciting ancient sites on the West Bank, two mammoth statues of Amenophis II at the Colossi of Memnon and at the Queen Hatshepsut Temple and of course the unmissable Valley of the Kings.

Day 11 Cairo (B)

See the Egyptian Museum, with its most significant showpiece, the magnificent Tutankhamun (King Tut) collection. Shop at the largest souk in the Middle East, legendary for copper, perfume, silver and gold. Enjoy an optional dinner and show in a floating restaurant on the Nile to round off your trip.

Day 12 Depart Cairo (B)
